PASTORS: Please put the following important information that may be pertinent to your church/congregation in your bulletins, newsletters, and announce to your congregations.
IT IS OF UTMOST IMPORTANCE for the pastor to check the District website often to stay updated on current calendar and upcoming events. Please do not forget to direct everyone
with access to the internet to the Potomac Highlands District website at www.phdumc.com for updated information throughout the District and upcoming events. It will benefit all
to help us at the District office to stay on top of the latest happenings in the District through this medium. Of course, we do realize that not all have or even want the Internet, and
we will still keep those current who are without access to a computer and/or the Internet by mailing District information to them.

Saturday, September 25, 2010
10:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Wesley Chapel
West Virginia Wesleyan College
Buckhannon, WV
ABOUT THE PROGRAM:
What does it mean to share ministry? What is shared ministry? Pastors, have you ever wanted more members involved
in serving Christ? Church leaders, have you ever wanted to really make a difference?
What happens in your church when someone has a new idea? Who encourages you and who blocks you?
We will look at what the Bible says about Shared Ministry and we will discover what kind of climate or environment
encourages Christians (pastors and laity) to want to Share Ministry.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND:
All pastors and church leaders from all denominations.
FOR READING AND REFLECTION:
In advance of this presentation, it will be useful to read Eph 4:11-16, 1 Cor. 12, Romans 12:4-6, & 1 Peter 4:10-11
in a variety of translations, one of which should be the New Revised Standard Version.

An invitation from Destiny Riggleman, Public Relations & Marketing Coordinator,
Burlington United Methodist Family Services, Inc.
Greetings everyone! Burlington United Methodist Family Services, Inc. is holding a Volunteer Appreciation
Luncheon on SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 25, 2010, FROM 11:00 am TO 1:00 pm
in appreciation of all those who have volunteered over the years with the agency and the Old Fashioned Apple Harvest
Festival. This event is meant as a time for us to give back to them and recognize them for their many years of service
and show our gratitude. The help I need from the Potomac Highlands District is in response to the invitations and
fliers being sent out into the churches. Attached you will find the flier with an RSVP date of Tuesday, September 7,
2010 (which will help us better plan for food purchasing and overall planning for this event., we would like for each
church to announce and plea to their congregation for those people who have volunteered in the past and present to
attend and sign up! If someone from each church (preferrably one person, aka Pastors or Pastor's secretary) could
contact us at one of the two listed numbers with the RSVP names, we would greatly appreciate it and this would
also help to decrease duplication of our counting. We thank you for helping us to make this a successful event and
look forward to eeing all of our volunteers there! Thanks again!
