2011 Pastors Compensation Package-Jim Berner,ConfTreas.doc (added 8/18/10)

(Instructions and figures from our Conference Treasurer, Jim Berner, in preparing the 2011 Report of Clergy Support Form-PLEASE READ CAREFULLY AND FOLLOW ALL INSTRUCTIONS)

The forms and informational documents are in a zip/compressed folder - you must open the folder, and then open each form within that folder. To open the zip folder (double click) on the folder "2010 Charge Conference Forms", then (double-click) again on the folder with the same name - this will give a list of all forms (double click on the form you wish to view, print or save.) You should (must) save each form to "My Documents" on your computer and then work with it, or save them to a CD/disk/flashdrive. (It is best to always save the form and then work with it and not to work in or change the forms in the zip folder.) Save one for each church on the charge. You are free to complete the forms on your computer and then print them out or print the forms and fill them out (as long as you type or print legibly.) 

The Fair Share forms for each church/charge are available again this year online and are included on this website with the Charge Conference forms. Just double click on the file "2011 Fair Share-SELECT YOUR CHARGE", then click on YOUR charge name. The Charge/Church/Committees forms were prepared by the Conference office this year and will only be available in paper form and WILL NOT BE available online and will have to be picked up at one of the following training sessions or the district office. PLEASE BE VERY CAREFUL NOT TO MISPLACE OR LOSE THESE FORMS, AS THIS WILL BE THE ONLY COPY IN EXISTENCE!! The instructions for completing the forms were prepared by the Conference Office and are online with the other forms in a file titled "Charge-Church Officers 2011 Instruction Sheet" and will also accompany the paper forms-PLEASE follow them closely. Again, these forms will only be available in paper form and will have to be physically sent or brought into the District Office upon completion. They will be available at the District Office after August 9, 2010, and at the following Charge Conference Workshops to be held as follows: (Workshops will be for pastors, any laity that will be helping to complete the charge conference forms, church administrative assistants, and any other interested persons.)

Sunday, August 22 - 6:00 PM at Bethel UMC, Mt. Lake Park, MD

Monday, August 23 - 7:00 PM at Burlington UMC, Burlington, WV

Tuesday, September 7 - 2:00 PM at Davis UMC, Davis, WV

Tuesday, September 7 - 7:00 PM at Upper Tract UMC, Upper Tract, WV 

We ask that you look over the subscription information concerning the INTERPRETER Magazine very closely so that those subscriptions can be brought/kept up-to-date. The INTERPRETER Magazine subscription information should have been or will be sent directly from Interpreter and you will send directly back to them (not to the District Office.) 

The forms have changed slightly since last year and can be done on your computer and then either emailed or sent to the District Office (with the exception of Church/Charge Officers and Committee forms.) Charge Conferences will be held parish-wide this year with little exception - see 2010 Schedule below. Completed Charge Conference forms MUST be into the District Office NO LATER THAN Friday, October 15, 2010, regardless of your Charge Conference date. Please, no exceptions! If you need to change your Charge Conference date or time, or if you need to have an individual charge conference, please contact the District Superintendent ASAP (no later than August 15, 2010 - no changes will be made after August 15th.) All rescheduled charge conferences will be earlier. Get started now ... you know what needs to be done.

We do realize there are pastors who do NOT have a computer and/or internet access, and we will print them a set of the Charge Conference forms and information and get it to them by other means. If you are a pastor who DOES have internet access and can go to the District Website, BUT does not have either WORD and/or EXCEL programs, please inform the District Office as to what forms you will be needing so we need only print the specific forms you cannot pick up from the website.  As you can imagine, this saves the District Office time and expense, which is one of the major benefits of having our own District Website!

PASTORS: Please check the schedule for your Charge Conference day and time. You can start planning for your Charge Conference now by having nominating and PPRC meetings at any time.
